With one button-press from any URC or RTI remote, you can do things that might take dozens of presses on the iPod alone: operations like “Play more from this Artist” or “Shuffle this Genre” are only one touch away. You can even add songs to a jukebox playlist on the fly; try doing that with just an iPod!

How is all of this possible? In an industry first, URC powers the PSX-2 with a bank of 250 discrete IR commands. These discrete codes, a hallmark of URC, enable us to automate the operation of an iPod like never before. We can create “one touch to music” programming.

For example, if you are a fan of a certain artist, we can create a macro that automatically searches and finds the artist and launches a selection. The same macro can even select one of the iPod’s 24 EQ settings and activate it—all automatically and all from one button press.

That’s not all the PSX-2 can do. The PSX-2 also includes the very powerful PSXLink Software for both Macs and PCs. Any new content that is added to the user’s iTunes library on the PC or Mac can be synchronized to the iPod in the PSX-2 without touching it.

The PSX-2 is compatible with all iPods (except for first generation). And the firmware can be updated through the home network for ongoing compatibility. It can be controlled by any remote that can learn IR codes, so it can be included in the system you’re installing today.

When used with URC’s flagship MX-6000 two-way WiFi IR/RF color touch screen controller, iPod metadata (including cover art) is displayed on the MX-6000’s huge 4.3-inch LCD screen, so it’s not even necessary to turn on the TV to use the PSX-2.

The JFV60 Lowboy is a highly versatile, dual-purpose audio/video cabinet that can be mounted on the wall to wood wall studs for a contemporary look or moved to the floor and used as a traditional cabinet. "The new JFV60 is first and foremost a high quality, durable home theater unit," said Jason Schmidt, product manager for Sanus. "Our decision to make it wall mountable adds to its versatility as a traditional cabinet. Consumers will like its ability to transition from the floor to the wall, and they're not limited to where they can put it. It's really two pieces of furniture in one." The JFV60 comes in rich espresso or chocolate brown colors and features three large shelves, two sliding glass doors with premium nylon glides for smooth movement and brushed nickel hardware. Generous cable management channels help keep TV and AV component cables organized and a convection cooling system allows the equipment to operate at a proper temperature. The cabinet is constructed of CARB-compliant MDF, which provides vibration isolation for uninterrupted equipment operation. As a floor-standing cabinet, the JFV60 supports TVs up to 63 inches and large AV components with a total weight capacity of 350 lbs. The cabinet can be mounted on the wall by attaching a heavy-gauge steel back plate to wood wall studs and locking the cabinet to the wall plate with built-in sliders. The wall plate accommodates both 16 and 24-inch studs. With the lateral shift feature, the installer can slide the cabinet left or right on the wall plate for perfect positioning on the wall. When mounted, the JFV60 will support up to 200 lbs. of equipment. Cable cutouts in the wall plate allow cables to be routed through the furniture and into the wall. Sanus also offers an optional backdrop accessory for when the cabinet is placed on the floor. The backdrop (sold separately for $219.99) adds an element of depth to the cabinet.
